The Kubey KB Knives Spike KB406A is a premium front-flipper designed by Maksim Epifantsev. Its narrow Wharncliffe blade, sandblasted titanium frame and twill carbon-fiber inlays create a clean, modern appearance backed by high-performance materials.
The 3.11-inch Wharncliffe blade is manufactured from Böhler M390 stainless steel, providing excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Vacuum and cryogenic heat treatment brings the blade to approximately 60–62 HRC. Its flat grind and straight cutting edge provide exceptional control for opening packages, scoring material and performing detailed everyday cutting tasks.
A bead-blasted blade finish complements the understated gray handle. The low-profile front flipper operates on caged ceramic ball bearings, producing smooth and responsive blade deployment.
The sandblasted titanium frame is fitted with contrasting twill carbon-fiber inlays. A titanium frame lock provides dependable blade security, while a matching titanium backspacer and right-side pocket clip complete the premium construction.

Why You’ll Like It
The Spike KB406A combines premium titanium frame-lock construction with an exceptionally lightweight design. At only 2.86 ounces, it carries comfortably while still providing the cutting performance and edge retention of an M390 blade.
Its straight Wharncliffe edge excels at controlled utility cutting, while the ceramic-bearing front-flipper action provides smooth and satisfying operation. The neutral gray titanium and twill carbon fiber give this version a refined, understated appearance compared with the colorful flame-anodized KB406B.
